What did you do to help with cab heat in your Commander? Does the provent windshield help with heat and dust?
Powerflip windshield, sound deadener around the console area/coolant lines and a boot around the shifter opening. Drove 146 miles today ranging 80° to 100°F. leave the window open partially or full open. Had to do way more than that on the generals to make them as cool as this machine in the cab. Not to mention they didn’t have a powerflip windshield option

People forget that these are recreational toys, not full on vehicles. They’re loud, they’re hot and cold, they aren’t refined like a regular vehicle. You have to step back and put things into perspective. If people want all that, go buy a jeep, or a pickup

My windshield from Super ATV. The flip up one that opens at bottom about six inches and opens at top, locks in place with a knob on both sides. Air comes in top and bottom. I am happy with everything now as far as heat goes. Working on tilt bed lock for bouncing noise and waiting on another thread for the drive line vibration problem. My nose is gone but vibration still there, another story on that thread. Monsoon season in AZ now so afternoon hard rain and winds and humidity. Only early half day trips in SXS and my Jeep, up in the mountains after that anything can happen. The rivers are running so enter at your own risk which we do. LOL I am happy so far with the changes getting ready for a SXS fest up north in Flagstaff area first event with this one they have them every month all over the state all year long it moves around.

Bought this new 2021 commander XT 1000R in April and have just used it around the farm.Has 22 hours on it. Went on our first mountain ride and was very disappointed in the heat coming from the console down by our legs. Temps running normal range but had to stop ever 15 minutes or so and get out just to cool off our legs.I have notified Can Am regarding this problem and have made appt with dealer where we purchased this machine. Very disappointed because there big sales pitch was no more heat in cab since they had moved the engine to the rear under the dump bed to alleviate this problem as they had in previous years. I was told , this is the first they have heard of my complaint and I was just wondering if anyone else was having similar issues !!!
Thanks ,

My 2021 Commander Max gets extremely hot around the shifter. Actually can burn your legs. Is there anything that someone has done. Spend all the money on these outfits and have these problems

Picked up a 2023 XT a few weeks ago, and the heat on the first ride was the first thing I noticed. It was around 70f outside and I found it hot in the cab, wife loved it. I've got front and rear windshield as others have reported and the heat is shooting up through the shift. Our summers up here don't get as hot as you folks in the US but I don't know if this machine is going to be barrable during the peak of summer here. Wow. How anyone found a fix?

Been dealing with the heat problem with my 2022 xt for the last 2 summers and it looks like you have to keep them wide open with no windshield or back wind or totally close it up with windshield, back window and side windows anything in between and the airflow draws the heat up from the center console causing a serious heat issue . Have also added air vents in the bottom of my windshield and added the air vent on the roof that do help a little but have spent to much time and money on figuring out a problem that was supposed to be fixed on the new generation.

Yeah that's what I've reading. Really sucks. I've got a Glass Windshield With Wiper. Be a pain to remove and honestly don't want to. I'll have to look into my venting options. I've got a soft cab kit for the winter, be interesting to see what effect that will have.

This is what I found searching the internet first picture. The second picture is what I did on my machine and it has helped a lot reducing the heat. Note if you do this be careful when drilling the holes I used my machinist mirror to look up in behind to make sure I wasn't hitting anything.

I used stuff I had laying around in the garages to help stop the heat. Now I glued the insulation down. The front part where the coolant lines come into the cab has silicone blocking that opening along with the opening where all the wires come through the dash. I would have used some spray foam but I didn't feel like driving to town to get a can. Even though it looks a bit robbed together in the pictures. It works great.

Going to attempt this on the weekend. Just wondering did you put an insulation on the panels as well or just around the tunnel and the shifter? Is it still working well for you?

I finally pulled the trigger on insulating my coolant lines and the shifter. I also plugged the hole under the shifter where you can see down to the skid plate. I suspect that’s where most of the air is coming into the cab. Pretty happy we the results. I just completed a 9 day trip of 1200km in 30c weather and it was a night and day difference.
