For awhile now my machine has been hard to shift from P to N to D. I have to rock it a lil then it will go. how do I fix it

Order a clutch service kit from Bollax and grease the one way bearing.

Mine is new, have about 85 miles on it. Have noticed any kind of incline or unlevel ground makes it hard to shift. Have to blip throttle to get it to move positions some time.

If your unit is shut off , does it shift easy . If it does the good ol factory might not of put any lube in the oneway bearings . Dry bearings don't spin easy , that causes drag and that makes hard shifting as the secondary is trying to turn . For easy shifting the secondary should NOT be putting pressure on the gearbox . Just my .02 cents

I have the sealed bearing installed, How does a bearing affect the machine going into a gear. isn't there a gear shifter linkage adjustment that can be done ??

When the oneway bearings are dragging it is trying to spin the secondary clutch and that gives hard shifting. That is why everyone is changing out the bearings for good double sealed ones , to have easy shifting

Have not tried with the engine off, I will do that though.
Thank you for the info.

The stock bearing get crap in them and drag but if you have sealed bearings they won't be dragging

You might have a weight arm that is sticking not letting the primary open all the way

Yes once the clutch cover is off and you have your body parts clear , start the engine and see if the belt is turning when the bike is in park . It should not , maybe for a sec during start up but that's it
If it keeps spinning that's what is giving hard shifting then you will need to remove the clutch and open it up

@acefire. My clutch did just as the clutches in the 2nd video prior to the last time I took them off

@troy I've taken the clutch apart the sealed one way bearings I have, spin freely. The weight arms seem to move freely as well if I hold the clutch upside Down all the arms move an when u turn it right side up the all fall back down into place. So they don't seem to be sticking. What should I check next ??

The second video has the mod clutch and serviced Oneway. It was much better in the Second video than the first which was stock. But mine has done that sense day one.

When your clutch is back on with belt installed and engine running , is the belt spinning . Don't put the cover back on , start it and watch

yes it is

I personally think it's the low engagement springs causing it. It done it new but now that it engages at 1500 rpm it tends to surge if you watch closely in the video it is moving in and out even after the belt stops turning.

Too soft of a primary spring will cause hard shifting as well if it's trying to spin the belt

Low engagement and when I switched to the mav belt it dropped down another 100 rpm. So it starts engaging at 1350 and is fully engaged by 1550 rpm. And my idle has bounced from 1250 to 1300 ish sense new.

i have the stock with the mav belt. Any suggestions

Look and see what side of the belt is dragging on the primary making it spin the secondary . Do you have a low rpm engage spring in the primary . I run the stock primary spring

The belt is riding on the inner side (next to the belt housing)
Today I removed the inner part of the primary and reseated it ( to make sure it was on straight) I checked the spring cup for proper seating I also took the secondary off cleaned and reinstalled it. I've tried using a maverick, gates and commander belt all with the same result. What else it there to check
