What about AIRDAM clutching? From what I seen with this mod it is all it will take to go bye bye.

 

It should be quicker than the XT based on pwer to weight. Let's wait and see how the production XP's do though since Polaris may have sent out a few "good running" XP's for the debut.

 

My Commando is very much faster in the Accel dept than it was stock. My RZR friend who drove it both before and after the clutch change, was raving about the acceleration this New Years. Unfortunately, we were not at Glamis, but Ocotillo Wells. What a dusty, boring, amature place that is. I will never go back. Whoop City!

I will gladly go pedal to the metal with the 900. Anyway, Im stuck with the Commander, it will not be stock I never initended to drive it stock. It will have enough power and handling to make ME happy for quite some time to come. There will always be someone or something faster than the next guy. Im not about to go chasing the world for epeen stroking rights. My GF takes care of that.

 

Oh well, I put money down on a XP today and as soon as my dad sells his quad he is buying a Can am. One of each in the family..

Dont worry about that rzr. The Commander is a 'Sport Ute'.

But, something tells me a new Can-Am SxS will be shown in July, a pure sport model to face the 900 XP.

 

i do have to give TXcrizzy props on the callout of mully. pretty funny. i read that yesterday and didnt know they were one in the same.

Ill be doin some Olds runs weekend of the22nd. I have a decent clutch now, SAND Wheels and Tires, and some very good Shocks on my XT. I only hope the XP guys are still runnin round so I can get a more "personal viewpoint" of the whole thing. Hey, the way the hype is flying around, i dont expect to win but this 50yards thing has got to go... whew.

went to ride on public lands yesterday and noticed right off the bat that there were tons of rental cars and several big trucks and trucks with enclosed trailers. we got on the trails and pretty soon ran up on forrest rangers who told us that this paticular area was closed due to a photo shoot. we turned bac k and took some other trails which took us back around where we could see what was going on. there must have been 75 people standing around a dozen or so rzrs, 2 commanders, 2 prowlers and 1 rhino. they were drag racing , jumping, cutting doughnuts, ect. they were running the pizz out of these things. the interesting thing was the rzrs were different than the normal rzr maybe same front end but different plastic in the back and they were bad to the bone! i am talkin about they were smoking the other sxs. these werent anywhere close to the norm. its like they were super charged or turbo'd . i am talkin they launched then accelerated like a rocket!!! i am guessing in 200 feet they had the commander beat by 8 lengths and in 300 feetby a dozen lengths but thats just a guess becaus i was a couple hundred yards away. i cant stress enough how powerfulthese things were. i hate polaris but i think i am going to have to try one of these. these sxs were way different in performance than anything we have ever seen before.

i dunno, i wasnt close enough to know the deminsions but when i seen it jump, i thought it was a stadium truck. as they were gassin it , the back end sucked down and the front was raised up and them bam they went up over a jump with a good 4 ft of air underneath and this thing soacked up the landing and they were back at full throtle. going around corners was the same, the suspension was unreal but the most impressive was the acceleration. i have no doubt this thing will pull the front wheels easily.

 

One more for people wondering on trail capability, personally I think the trailing arms will do great on the rocks. Time will tell. I am loving this possible manufacturer's performance war, all the machines will only improve because of it (if it happens).

I was fortunate to be in Brimstone over the weekend bought my wife a new S model 4 Xmas & a 4 day cabin vaction. And Corbin Motorsports had 2 of these 900's down there. And let me say the acceleration on these is unbelievable. I have a Gade with several motor mods on 27 Swamp Lites & I cant run with'em. We followed them around in some rocky area's and the mud was terrible this weekend everywhere. And they were impressive to say the least. I watched 1 of them climb trail 75Y and for any of you who have been to Brimstone that's an impressive feat by anyones standards. The XP made short work of it!! I can see everyones point in the trailing arms but we crossed several large logs along the trails and it didn't seem to be an issue. Time will tell the story with the XP as it has with all the new models over the years. But I think they will be he!! for the Commander to compete with. Nothing against Can Am I think there Rotax engines are the best in the industry. But Polaris has set the bar pretty high from what I saw. Just MOPO!!!

Uhm, no, that would be what someone would be doing if they were in threads NOT about the other machine, pushing the other machine. If you do not like talking about the RZR XP/Commander thing, which is the topic of this thread, then you can easily not participate and stay out of the threads that have POLARIS RZR XP in the damn title.

You know it IS POSSIBLE for someone to like both the Commander and some other SxS, last I checked when you go to the dealer all they care about is money they don't call out the investigator to see if you own a RZR then say "Sorry we don't sell Commanders to RZR owners" and vice versa.

 

well personally most of us have seen what happens to the rzr frames and that is why i have never bought one and still have no intentions to...Sorry the rzr4 is a joke with a bolt together frame. i would never put my family in a vehicle that is literally held together with four bolts while off roading out in the desert. dont know about the new xp but every one i know with an rzr has had major issues with bending and cracking frames. I dont care how fast your vehicle is because as soon as you fold you frame your done. The dunes are notorious for bending rzr frames so unless they changed the frames (which i highly doubt) i will not be impressed

 

I have heard the same thing...several times over...enough that I am NOT drinking the Koolade...I really like what I see and hear but the frame issues scare me...
Funny though you will find RZR owners saying they never have had a problem with the frames...but I have seen more than 1 in the shops I frequent...

Welp, there it is. Was the Commander running OK? Alot of blue smoke upon letting off the gas. Do they all do that?

 

Like to see rzr up against Airdam clutch.We all know can am clutch sucks.
