What is everyone using for grease? there is many to choose from. I am assuming high temp, waterproof? I have seen lot that comply to NLGI #2, I will be doing new a arm bushings, also have replaced front u joints, and am going to grease the wheel bearings when I do the bushings. I have greased the commander after every 3 or 4 times I have been out for a tear. So I don't think its a problem with lack of grease. maybe need a better grease. I have 3900 kms (2400 miles) on it, or is this normal wear and tear??

thanks again for the input

A while back Ace mentioned a Schaeffer's grease that was real good and if I remember right it was waterproof. I remember looking for it and it was tough to find. I'm gonna look again when I go to grease stuff this spring. Maybe he'll pop in with the number for it.

I did a search for the grease on Amazon.ca they have the brand but not the product, puts I would have to buy a case of it..
I am in Nova Scotia, on the east so I may have limited options

Yes I bought it by the case . Lines normally sell fir 7 to 8$ each . But in a case you get 30 tunes fir 150$. So it cuts the price to 5$ a tube . I go through a lot of grease so it was a no brainer for me . But for those that don’t use a lot it doesn’t go bad. So by a case and you done buying grease fir most of your life. Or pawn it off on your buddies to get some of your money back.

there is a lot of products on Amazon.com that don't ship to Canada. I check Amazon.ca ( I have Prime) there is some of that product available but price is out to lunch..

I guess I am out of the loop then. I didn't know the average life out of the bushings etc. I guess I am over thinking this. I will continue as if I was normal.. lol Not a lot of riding this year, surgery in april , then a 7week trip across Canada to see the sights. The Wife, for some reason enjoys getting out so I will get my maintenance done and then have some fun. I have been enjoying doing the work on the machine, learning some stuff.

thanks

I use green grease and that is actually what it is called. It is full synthetic, water proof and seems to work well. I would put better bushings in if I were you. I put garage product bushings in and have 6500 miles on them and they are still as tight as the day I put them in and on the plus side I do not have to grease them.
