While this petition is only for Johnson Valley, the effects could be HUGE for the entire OHV industry. The reason for this is that MANY politicians are currently looking at and involved in the expansion of 29. ALL politicians care about is NUMBERS. We have been telling them the OHV community is massive, and now we have a way to prove that.

WE NEED 30,000 SIGNATURES IN 30 DAYS!

The next Johnson Valley may be in their back yard!

This also has greater ramifications reaching beyond California and JV . . .

We need to show this green Administration that OHV is a HUGE united community and send the message to quit screwing with our recreation!!!

Whew! Got it in just under the wire come to find out . . .

Apparently this was brought this to the attention of Shannon Welch of Ultra4 Racing, who also happens to be the one manning this petition effort. Her response was this:

"We are GOOD Guys! They said they wouldn't retroactively apply it to existing petitions. Our petition shows we need 25K Signatures! We may be the LAST petition to get a response at that number! They posted their announcement at 3PM PST. Our Petition was live at 8:30 AM."

Nice to see it at 8,700 signatures with folks from around the country participating.

There may be hope for our sport after all . . . while the number required is 25k, the goal was 30k and what we really want to do is get every signature possible.

According the Gumbernment stats there are about 55 million of us or 1/6th of the U.S. population . . . a million signatures should be possible if this got spread around EVERYWHERE!!!

This is as much about showing mass and unity as it is saving an area.

Turn it in with 25k or 750k signatures . . . which would grab more attention???

I follow and participate with the ARRA (Americans for Responsible Recreational Access) and they also have this petition so it's been done. Hope it helps.

Yup, got that one . . . another from SEMA and a couple others, it's getting around good finally!

It would be nice to get 250k as opposed to 25k, the more the better!!! :)

This petition is up on dozens of OHV forums, access advocacy sites, FacePlant and is even in the press. One OHV forum shows a membership of around 250K!!!

This should have had 25K signatures the first day it was released; it should have at least 250K by now.

While it is heartening to see the signatures of folks from nearly every State in the Nation who actually get it, the overall lack of participation speaks volumes about how much we really value our recreation.

A strong showing here would have sent a loud message to Washington not only about JV but the voting potential held by 55M motorized public land users.

Is it any wonder we are constantly being stomped by a couple million hiking boots and ignored by a political machine that highly values votes and lubes the largest squeakiest wheel first??

This petition will be lucky to reach its goal and that’s just flat arse embarrassing!!!

What about posting pictures of Johnson valley.. Let people who have never been get an idea of the variety of terrain and scenery. Just a thought!.

Not going to let this thread go away until we hit 25,000 signatures!.. Do your part, than post what number you are!.. Thanks in advance from someone who grew up enjoying Johnson valley..
