I'm getting ready to do first oil change for my XT800. I'm going to use Rotella T6 5W-40, but I'm noticing there's a couple choices... "Extreme Temp" and "For Diesel Engines" Does it matter which is used? Thanks
You need API SM and JASO MA-2. This are the specs that BRP has for their oil, so as long as you're using that then you're fine.
It shows having all those specs, thanks. I've noticed a puddle of what seams to be dirty oil underneath the drain plug. I replaced the plug o ring and the filter cover o ring. Could this be coming from the filter cylinder when filter was removed?
I thought that the transmission was jumping out of gear- when I bought this machine I had to replace the hi slider and gear, plus all the snap rings and shift fork, because it was grinding on engagement, or even putting it on the trailer. I just had the transmission apart, and found no evidence...
I searched the forum without success. What is the socket size required for the rear wheel hub castle but on a 2017 commander 1000 XTP? I measured it and can’t determine the impact socket size. Any help would be great for I need to change out the wheel bearings ASAP.

Cleaning my post air filter. Do you think it would be fine to use k&N cleaner and oil for this?
The original filter came pre oiled and does seem to be pretty thick type oil.
