I have a 2018 Commander 1000 limited and after I ran out of fuel. I can't seem to get it back to running order, checked fuel flow, changed oil and spark plugs and has good current too plugs... after rolling it over for several minutes, I finally got it to run (very roughly) but on ly for a few seconds.. any thoughts on what's up with it! Any help very much appreciated!!!!!

I would go to a parts store with a “loan-a-tool” program like oriellys or auto zone and get their fuel pressure gauge. Hook it up in line where the fuel line exits your tank and test your fuel pressure. They run fine at 50 psi +/- a couple psi but when it gets much lower you have problems. You could have damaged the pump without fuel.

Maybe you fuel filter is partially plugged due to dirt picked up from the bottom of the tank. Replace it first as this would be the cheapest way to start troubleshooting.

A tank run dry can pickup all the goop in tank and even suck the sock in. And drag trash to the injectors. Pull injectors and check them with some spray cleaner and a battery. There are good videos on YouTube. Also good to check residual pressure with the gauge after you get it running.

Ok so I got it running but, it is running very rough. It sounds like the back cylinder has something slapping around inside of it. Hard to understand since it simply ran out of fuel at the start..pressure is fine and so is the spark.

Did it run lean on you and burn a cylinder? Running out of fuel is a huge no no on fuel injected engines. (1) Burns up the pump (2) leans down the engine drastically and will burn a piston, etc.

The very first thing I would do is follow slowindown's advice in post 2. That will tell you a lot. If that's good, and fuel flow is good, looks like you're tearing into the motor. See # (2) above....

You did not report what you did to get it running and I am new to these motors...... but I would pull the plug on back cylinder and turn it over to listen and read plug to see if it has been firing (raw compression w/o ignition can make noises). If no mechanical sounds cranking with plug out and a scope look in cylinder reveals nothing, then I would pull injector unless plug was wet from no fire. Verify injector... I understand from some of the senior member posts that these motors will run on one cylinder but not great. Good time to also do a compression test which is always good info for internal conditions
