Has anyone ever had an issue with the factory power steering involving an old battery?
My power steering seems to work on and off and does not throw any codes or faults.
I was reading through my shop manual last night and I am wondering if my battery is not holding enough power if it would cause the power steering to cut out occasionally?
The battery is original and my commander is a 14.
I do use a battery tender and the power steering seems to be fine when I first take it off charge and drive it.
I have a volt meter on it and it reads 14 when running and only about 12.1 when not running.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As long as it’s not dropping below 13.5 when running the stator should be putting out enough to run the dps. Does it do it in all three modes? Or just one ? Unplug the dps grease the plugs and hook back up.

All three. I will try unplugging and using some dielectric grease in the plugs.

Thanks for the info Acefire. I disconnected both plugs on the DPS and cleaned and greased them and it seems to have fixed the issue.
