I am wanting to put performance pipe on my 2014 can am commander 1000 xt. Is there a draw back as far as having to have it tuned to the exhaust or what problems can it cause
Louder is leaner you can put a fuel controller on but it will only control the wide open throttle end . The o2 sensors over ride the controller at low and mid range. You can send your ecm off and get it flashed for the exhaust. But without doing internal modifications to the engine you will more than likely lose 5 hp. On the older models there’s nothing performance about adding exhaust. But I does sound better.
I had an HMF dual system on both my ‘12 and ‘15. They sound awesome! I got them on eBay, it came with a air filter and fuel controller. If you do a dual setup, get the corner exit so the bed will dump all the way.
