I need a heater installed in the Commander to keep steam off the windshield. It’s not enclosed. I was thinking about using a 150 watt 12 volt DC heater that plugs into the lighter. Can the electrical system handle that load? I do have 4 LED pod lights and a wiper, but do not have to use all at once.

The 12V power outlet has a 15A fuse which will provide up to 180W, so you should have enough, but not a lot left for anything else

That output is based on the engine running at 3K rpms plus to provide that amount of juice too.

150 watts of heat won't do anything, 150 watt for a blower fan only is more reasonable. Electric heat to defrost a windshield would need to be 2000-3000 watts at least.

Get a 12 volt fan like they use in the old kenworth big trucks . Lots of airflow against the window keeps the fog down . I have mine enclosed with a BRP heater and can fog up . I installed the fan and the fast moving air on the window is the ticket
