Hi,
I’m looking to upgrade the suspension of the base DPS, I have a 2023, but I’m having a tough time finding which suspension I should be looking at for my model?

Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thank you!

If looking for factory model replacement xtp model will have the fox shocks. If looking for the best give these guys a call.

Thank you, I will give them a call tomorrow.

As for the XT-P, I know it comes with Fox suspension, but is it sold separately anywhere? Like can I buy the Suspension from the XT-P and install it on a DPS? Will I need to also change other stuff?

Thank you!

Did you ever upgrade your shocks? Fox QS3 that come on the XT-P are good but the springs suck... If you want to spend the money look into Shock Therapy. I did the whole upgrade to IQS and it's a game changer.
Sorry I did not see this reply sooner. I have not done the suspension upgrade yet.

I found a set of XT-P Shocks for sale, though they're not orange, they're black. However, I noticed the Arms on the DPS are different than the XT and XT-P where the shock bolts to on the rear, and bottom. Not sure if I need the arms as well. Does anyone know if I would need to swap those arms to fit the suspension? Or they just bolt on there normally?

Here's a pic of the difference. @acefire @Hollywood 94

Measure the extended length of both xtp and the dps shock. But if you can bolt the xtp shocks on then roll the wheels and not bind the axles up then you should be good . But looks like the xtp arms are longer than the dps arms.

The XT-P is 2" (or 4"? Not sure) wider than the DPS from factory so I'm guessing the arms are longer. Might have to get them and see if they work without changing any other parts.

I would try bolting the shocks on first . If you mount the top bolt then if you have to raise the arms to put bottom bolt in you are good if anything you gained a lift on the rear with the longer shocks. If shock is to long for the bottom bolt to go in then yes you will need all four rear arms . But if arms are longer I’m guessing the axles are longer as well. So not going to be a cheap quick fix.

You do have to pull both shocks . The xtp shocks are longer. And there’s a sway bar attached to both sides on rear . So if you remove one shock the other shock will hold the removed side up. So to test fit the xtp shocks both shocks will need removed .

I own an XTP and have converted my stock fox to IQS. The sway bar does come in play with just test fitting one side. The main thing is to maintain the correct ride height so you don't put more stress on the axles.

If you are dealing with same length shocks or going from longer to shorter . Than you are correct but when you are going from a shorter shock to a longer shock the sway being connected limits how far the suspension can drop. So if the shock on the machine is 20 inch and you pull one off you can only fit a 20 back on do to the arms are still connected by the sway bar. So if those shocks are 21” it will not fit between the mounts . He has a dps model that he bought xtp shocks for . The arms are longer so that would make the shocks longer . Your not going to pull one shock off and come close to pulling the longer shock on unless the suspension is at full droop with no shocks mounted. Once the one shock is on if it will even fit then he has to roll the wheels and make sure the cv joints don’t bind up. You can see in the pics he posted the mounting points are in totally different places not even close . I’m suspecting the shocks will be to long. The old commanders and the old mavericks only had a 1.5” length difference but you couldn’t mount the Mav shocks.

The XTP has a different lower control arm which mounts the shock in a lower location and being that the hubs are all the same (part number match for the DPS.XT & XT-P) he maybe be able to just swap lower control arms. if he wants to do that. The sway bar double links are the same on all models of 1000's which tells me that the shock mounts have to be different on the lower control arms. The XT and the XTP have the same lower control arm and the DPS is different but all the other parts should work if really wants the Fox 2.5 QS3 and go through the work to swap the lower control arms. But the real question is what are you doing up front? It's no good just to do the back and leave the front ones stock.

Shock Therapy has and upgrade for those type of cam shocks like the Polaris Ranger (see video) They maybe able to work on the stock DPS shocks. It's worth a call because it would be much cheaper to do that.

Good luck I know the rabbit hole is very deep when it comes to upgrades...

Can-Am Parts house sell the lower rear A Arms for 134.99 and front upper A Arm for 154.99 each if you want to do the swap of all four shocks.
I know first hand that the Stock XT-P shocks are ok but once you do the spring kit from ST it is night and day different.
