Has the commander been up against a 1000 Prowler. The Horsepower is there but will it really beat it good. Just wondering and it also looks like we need some new threads:p

I've heard it will but not by much. I think the clutching could use some work judging by those that rode them have said. Seeing the drag racers either the horsepower isn't what they are claiming or the clutch needs work. We should be able to walk of and leave the rzr in the dust even with weight difference with 81hp to the rzr's 55hp.

Well considering there is a 300# delta @ 10# per HP that would put you close.

We're hoping everything goes OK with ours after break-in and with no break-downs.....may have to twin-turbo ours to just keep a couple of Pacific NW RZR-Xs (Yamaha Apex powered) in sight!!....Lance

Huh?
he saying that every100lbs equals 10hp lost (30hp gained or lost if your heavier) but we have used 7 hp in my racing circles...its all about power to weight ratios...

Acording to the BRP techs the power to weight for the Commander 1000 it has a 6.6 hp/w the 800 is 5.5 hp/w the 1000 A.C. is 4.8 hp/w and the RZR is 5.4 hp/w. That is comming right out of thier book. So the commander should beat them all.

Thats good Info to know. Power to weight ratios appear to have dropped over the years.

Infomercial

BRP has filmed an infomercial for launch September 1st on their web site.
It will show head to head performace with all brands in both a drag race and a weighted sled pull. Word is that even the 800 engine platform out performs the other brands.

That's due to Yamaha getting sued for safty. Everything is getting beefed up to try not to get sued.

While waiting on those, I'll throw out a couple of our own comparisons .....keep in mind that, even tho ours is a Rhino, it's has a stock Rotax 800 in it, mounted backwards....Rhino ain't much to look at, but does run OK (just pretend it's an 800 Commander for a minute, LOL)..........Lance

This vid was the Pro Division sled pull against a pumped-up Rhino:

This vid was the SxS drag race against a turbo RZR:

This pic shows that it was way worth it:

This is what happened to the rear driveshaft while duning the next night...ROTF!....
