Got the intake manifold off and the big black tube that is part of the system. The orings were not ripped, but are very flat. Picking up orings Friday, they had to order them. Anyway, there was some fluid in the big black tube, looked like it was there for a while, smells gassy, but looks like old oil. What is the culprit on this? Is this somewhat normal or bad news...

That is what I was hoping. Once I get the orings I will let you know whats up with this. There is an air sensor in there too. Looks like the same kind that is in a car at the air cleaner. Will I need to reset the fault code or once the issue is fixed will it clear itself??

Only active code out machine in limp mode . Kinda like if the check engine light comes on then goes right back off. The code that tripped the light when inactive so it records that it happened but no farther action is taking by ecm. But if it stays active light stays on and limp mode kicks in if its a issue that will cause damage.

Up-date...

Well I ordered the gaskets and installed those about a week a go and started it up in the garage and no change. I tried to pull codes a few times and nothing popped up but it was still in limp home mode and was telling me low oil with the engine light flashing. So Today I was loading it up on the trailer in limp home mode and when I got it up turned it off and then back on to adjust placement and noticed no limp home mode and the engine light was not flashing??

Soooooo I took it for a ride sown the street and then played in the snow around the house for about 5 minutes. Parked it and then started it back up and it seems good to go.

So anyone have an idea on this one or was it the gremlins??

On the oil message I have checked my oil and it looks to be fine. So I am not sure about that one at start up. I do have a K and N oil filter in there right now, not sure if that would cause this.

Just looking for thoughts?

Ace, what do you think?

I'm not ace , but the low oil is not for oil level .
It's oil pressure , after they sit for a while the sending unit is slow to respond to the oil pressure . Dealers have a flash that makes the ecm wait a few seconds before showing you the oil message .That extra time gives the system time to pressure up and a strong oil pressure signal get to the ecm .

I would check the battery cables , the canam seem very sensitive to voltage spikes or movements . A loose cable can do weird stuff . I would drive it
