Just wondering if anyone has ridden the new XTP and XMR and how do the shocks compare? I saw a review from Dirt Trax where they said the shocks on the XMR were very stiff, to the point of almost being unbearable. I know they're not reservoir shocks like the XTP, but are they really that stiff?

I had a 2016 Kawasaki Teryx LE 4-seater. Sold it and bought a new '22 Commander XT-P. I love the XT-P. I have also heard there is some difference between the XT-P and XM-R shocks. I have not driven the XM-R, but I can say this. I have also ben told the XT-P has the best ride in the Commander line. My wife has a couple of minor physical issues and she wanted a softer rider. I have adjusted the shocks on my XT-P some and she has been good with it. It is MUCH softer than my Teryx. We don't ride like "we stole it," which would definitely have some effect.

The XT-P is supposed to be top of the line in the Commander line-up and the shocks are one reason I bought it. For what it's worth, I doubt you will be disappointed with either model. Like I told my wife, "We are not riding on the highway, so you have to expect bumps." There's my 2 cents worth.

Thank you for your reply. I like the fact that the XTP has nicer shocks than the XMR, but I like the look of the XMR a lot more. I'm kind of torn between the two but would probably end up going with the XTP because of the awesome shocks.

Thanks again for your reply.

I have a '21 XTP (same as the '22) and my dad has a '22 XMR. We have had them at Windrock and Colorado. I really can not tell much of a difference in the ride on the rough and rocky trails. The XTP feels better at a little higher speed and the XMR actually does better climbing and in snow/ice. Could not tell much of a difference in slower rock crawling (at WR), but the XMR does have a little more stock clearance. Smooth dirt road or pavement is XTP by far. Neither of them are tuned as well as the '19 Mav sport we traded in even though it is the same engine. I really like to accelerate on smooth climbs and neither do that well compared to the sport, but that is just a tuning thing. I can't say which one I prefer. I guess it comes down to which you like better. Snorkel on the XMR is nice even though we have not not needed it yet.

Hope this helps
