I have a 2019 Commander 800R XT that has started to loose (stops working) the throttle a couple months ago. It seems to start when doing a long up hill pull at speed after riding it for awhile. It is like the throttle just quits working but will start working again after a couple seconds. Last weekend it started this and after about 3 or four episodes the check engine light came on and it went into limp home mode. Once I stopped and turned the engine off and then turned it to on to check for codes nothing came up and the light had went off. I have checked the fuel pump pressure and its 50+ psi once the engine is at operating temp. I have checked the map sensor and it looks to be clean and good. Engine doesn't seem to be over heating (gauge shows 2/3 bars). Anyone have any ideas on what to check next?

I am not sure but I think your machine has a drive by wire throttle system ( no accelerator cable) Maybe a bad sensor could cause this?

You can only pull active codes when engine light is on. Once light is out it’s inactive and you will need buds to read the code that activated the limp mode . But sounds like maybe the throttle is starting to go out. But until the light stays on you can check it without buds .
