Thumbs down Dirt Specialties - Doors - Let Down :(

I WILL UPDATE THIS, IF I RECEIVE AN UPDATE!

I did hear from Bob regarding the doors. Supposedly new door is going out today. I will keep posted. I will re-insert original post if this falls through to make sure accurate information is flying through.

I really hate to hear about your issues. I have these doors and they have been great for me. I'm on my 3rd year with them. The only issue I had was when I put the outer skin on I had to remove the panel and shave about 1/16"-1/8" off the bottom because it hit the door sill and a couple of the holes to mount the skin had to be reamed out a bit. I contacted the owner (Bob I guess) about the issue and he stated something about switching jigs and that there had been a few misalignments because of it. The other thing I did was remove each panel and placed a rubber washer between the skin and the door frame as I was getting a few squeaks.

The only other real complaint (It's not really that big of deal) is where the door frame hinge side connects to the bottom, there is a slot that you can slide the whole door assembly up or down to align the door properly. Mine (Only on the drivers side) has a tendency to slide down in the slot and I have to readjust it sometimes so it latches properly. It is probably due to not paying attention and leaning on or applying force to the latch side of the door with it open without thinking about it. It's not that big a deal and I've thought about adding a second bolt there but haven't done it yet.

All in all my experience has been much better than yours. I still think the are a great value compared to the pricing of some of the other doors. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.

FWIW, I had a buddie who had Pro-Armor doors and he absolutely detested them because they squeaked and rattled at the hinges so bad and he tried everything he could think of and couldn't get it to stop.

Steve,

My main reason to be upset really isn't the door itself. It's a bummer sure. But it's more so the Hey I'll fix it, then ignore you mentality. I love how the doors look, and the fit and install was great. The noise drives me insane though

I understand that completely. Good luck.

Until they send you a new door, you might be able to tighten up the hinge gap with some E-clips or snap rings.
