2017 Can-Am Commander 800R 4x4 XT DPS fuel issue

hi all. i have a2017 Can-Am Commander 800R 4x4 XT DPS. i am having fuel issues, if i try to give it full throttle right away it bogs and goes in to limp mode ansd the check engine light comes on and i have to unhook battery to reset it., if i baby it, it will surge but take its fuel pretty good after a bit (by baby, i mean barely touch the throttle, maybe like 1/4 throttle max). i took the tank completely off and wiped the inside down and i replaced the fuel filter. it has a bit over 9000 kilometers on it. i guess its likely the fuel pump getting weak or the injectorshave an issue. i "think" it was bad gas that started the issue as i was on a drive and had to fill up and all the store had was cheap gas, maybe had water in it, at least thats when my issue started but not 100% sure if that was the cause or just a coincidence. has anyone alse had this same thing happen? can i take the actual pump apart to clean it, can i clean the injectors? can you put fuel injection cleaner in these small engines?

Get it in to limp mode then pull the codes . Codes are key to trouble shooting . And only way you can pull the codes is when check engine light is on .

1. turn key to lights on position

2. use mode button and scroll to engine hour (EH) on gauge

3. press and HOLD the mode button while quickly toggling between high and low beam ( min 3 toggles in 2 seconds)

4. If there is any P-CODES they will be displayed

Post the code number back up on here or google it. We do run into some codes that lead other than what the code is actually for . But your choice!!

As for pump cleaning you can replace the filter but no way to clean the pump. You can rent fuel pressure testing kit for most auto parts stores. Pressure should never be any lower than 50#. We have auto part store replacement pump part numbers if that is your problem.

Donít hesitate to replace the spark plugs. Theyíre cheap and easy. Iím not saying thatís what the problem is but the rotaxs like good plugs. There was a thread on here a few weeks back where a guy had the same symptoms you mention except I donít think he mentioned limp mode. Anyway he replaced the pump, filter etc. - no go. On a whim he changed the plugs. Fixed it. Thereís been a number of threads like that.

You got coil issue or crank speed sensor . Try plugs first but never seen a plug trip a misfire .
