Thor Vortex Toy Haulers

I've finally narrowed down my search to a 2008 23ft Thor Vortex toy hauler. Does anyone have any experience with these on the forum? I've searched the web all week and have found very little on these trailers.

Looks pretty nice, why not see if the dealer who you are buying it from, can get you a couple names of people that have bought that year and model?

The photos shown, don't match the floor plan

Have you physically measured the area you'll be parking the Can Am in. I guess you realize that you'll need to pull the toy out before you can sleep.

Looks like a nice rig

Thanks guys for all the comments. I have a 2007 Tundra, so I have to find a smaller toy hauler I can tow safely.

Here are some pics of the actual trailer:

Keep in mind that the tow capacity of the Tundra is 6900 pounds if has a cab and your TH has a gross weight of 7,400 lbs

Also, have the dealer measure from the ramp to the refrig cabinet, the height of the beds so your roll cage will make it in, and ask about how many tie downs and where they are located. You have a large heavy toy which will move around if it's not properly secured.

I have a 2008 Tundra and tow a 27ft toy hauler that's 9900lbs loaded with no problems. I had a 20ft that was right at 10,000lbs before that, which I towed for three years with no problems whatsoever. With the tow package the Tundra is rated just over 10,000lbs.

And if you post on RV.net and even mention you have a Toyota be prepared to get reamed by all the Dodge, Chevy & Ford guys. They will tell you anything over 5000lbs and you are risking certain death and will put entire cities as risk of total destruction due to your unsafe towing habits.

I had a 2000 Tundra pulling a Thor Tahoe 19' toy hauler and drove it home from California and when I got home I bought a Dodge diesel. The Tundra
was a POS pulling it and I had not put the "X' in it. Not sure when they changed to the new bigger Tundras, but in my opinion the older ones are not big enough. BTW, I still have the Tundra and love em, but just not for pulling toy haulers. I am not biased to either one, although I prefer Toyota's over American trucks, just not for hauling real heavy loads

I have never driven an older Tundra but would assume there is no comparison between the two based on performance of my 2008. And the OP has a 2007 which is first year of new design. There is no question, a diesel has more power and the Toyota trucks are hater magnets for towing but the Tundra tows exceptionally well.

I have a 2007 Tundra with the 5.7 v8 and it's a beast when towing. I came from a Chevy 2500HD and although that truck felt more solid, the Tundra is a work horse. I have towed several things from loaded trailers to boats and never had an issue.

However after looking at the trailer today the Commander wouldn't fit. I would need about 6 more inches length wise or a bed delete kit
