Getting my Commander outta limp. No reason to really, I'm developing parts as we speak for the same engine in the ATV. Obviously, the engine doesn't care what it's in.

To be clear, the throttle body isn't a restriction, it's the fact that you do not have direct control, the ecu does.

Fixing it is easy, just buy & install a stand alone throttle controller, and standalone ecu, problem solved, and no need for a Powercommander, at all.

Yes, but I didn't write down the numbers. Flow isn't too important, making power, is.

but if they are only flowing say "40" cfm and you are bumping up the intake throttle body and exhaust capabilities wouldnt the head be holding it back?

Maybe, maybe not. More CFM does not equal, or guarantee more horsepower. You can increase the flow, and not increase the horsepower, and vice versa. All engines are like this, not just these.

Ran great from launch to top end with the cable operated TB and separate fuel / ignition controller...instant throttle response we all are familiar with on a cabled TB..... but the starting and idle characteristics up to about 2500 were definately suffering by standards ....

So then they did some more fiddling to get starting and lower end dialed in and acceptable ....that equated to too much loss of power mid to upper end to please them.....

That's were it's at now ....good news is that they are taking these bumps in the road personally and has stoked their fire to keep going with the project until either they say EUREKA or the Commander's engine does an oil down on their dyno!.....
