Rear Wind Deflector Question

If anyone is interested in going for this project...... I've got some ideas. Send a PM
I think you'll find that dust comes from everywhere and not just from behind. I noticed when hauling ass across the dunes that sand was actually shooting up from the drain holes in the floor like a sand fountain. Good luck, though! Could be the next big thing!

By the way are you running a roof on yours? That could be a factor...

Rhinorehab,

Thanks for your note.

I've got a set of FUTV skid plates and I get no dust coming in from the bottom.

I've run it with and without a roof but the Commander having any kind of a windshield becomes a dust bucket vacuum in the cab. My machine has about 1500 miles of desert riding on it and the majority of dust that enters the cab is from "blow back" created by the windshield vacuum.

If we were able to create an airfoil that broke the vacuum, I think the dust problem would be greatly mitigated.

Again, I'm hoping that one of our vendors who can fabricate metal or plastic will be able to create a wing or spoiler of some sort to be mounted on the roll bar. With the seat belts and fishnets removed, there are three stock machined threaded possible points of attachment at the of the roll bar for the wing

I'll be more than happy to do the field tests

I've just *designed and fabricated two different size rear spoilers that will mount on the rear part of the cage. I got some great ideas from Kevin Pylant who used to race with the World of Outlaws. No photos until I get it mounted. They will be road tested in Nevada and if they work, you'll see them for sale at FUTV

They will be named Hooligan Dust Busters

The Rear Net designed by CANAM serves that purpose. I have it on mine with the 1/2 front windshield and there is absolutely no dust blowback in the cab.

Just to let you know. and it's light and cheap too
