Aerocharger turbo kit

Just got an email form Aerocharger letting me know that their turbo should be available in Jan with around 127 hp...Personnally I like that amount of increase in HP more than jumping to a crazy 180 hp that isnt likely to be a long runner breaking everything isnt my idea of fun!!

I couldnt imagine the Commander with that much HP. It would be dangerous without a long travel kit.

X2 the 1000 is putting 54-55Hp right now to the rear wheels, could not even wonder what 85-90Hp to the rear would be like.. Scary Fast

No dought that long travel would be required to keep out of trouble.

high HP is not needed for most UTV riders.
but a lot of sand duners, like me, want more than what the OEM provides.
The nice thing about most stage 1 turbo kits for UTVs is that you can get a good bang for your buck HP increase. And there is no rule that says you have to run high boost and risk damage. You can run low boost for moderate power increase and have reliability.

Here is a video from last week at the Glamis drags.
The orange RZR has a kt turbo kit and paddles.
The other 2 RZRs have Yamaha Apex engines with mcx turbos (250hp prox) and paddles.
The Commander 1000 is stock and has stock dirt tires.

Do you need this kind of power? No. But it can be fun!
Put a turbo and paddles on the Commander and it would be hanging right in there in a race like this I think.

Notice he didnt even start until they were like two or three lengths ahead.
Who is that Jockey in the X?

I can tell you this. It wont be me investing several thousands of fun dollars for Hyper Horsepower for my commander. Even though I could, its just not my style. I think something around 100hp, good handling, good looks will get it done for me and my GF. There is life beyond the Commander.
Hmmm, now if someone could please tell me where it is?

He started about the same time, but without paddles or a turbo it just doesn't launch as good.

I'm thinking a smaller turbo would be ideal. More power without going overboard IMO.

I'm waiting...
