oil filter ?

this question is for the new happy owners... is the oil filter of the commander 1000 the same as the outlander ? the reason i ask is i dont want to get caught with "back order" filter when i receive my toy like it happened when i received my KTM SX

Yes, check out the BRP catalog. They are the same as the 800 outy. I already checked into this.

Off topic but I've seen a mod where you can use a automobile style filter. I'll see if I can find it

Here it is. Looks like it also has taps to cool the transmission. I think the Commander already has a trans cooler, but neato stuff never the less. You could easily plug those holes if you wanted.

The filter is bigger than my DS 650... just bought 2 of them...about $ 11.50 ea

I think that the tappes are for a oil cooler not for the transmion.

There is a compeny out there that is making remote oil filters that saidthey would be making them for the Comander's I don't know who they were. But thats what I want on mine get the oil filter out where you can change it without having to take the seat out and pullin all the plastic off. Install the filter under the box so all you have to do is lift the box and change the filter.
