Toy2...sorry for asking this as you've probably already have answered, but did you have problems with your local dealer or dealer where you purchased from?....we had great luck with your original dealer for warranty work...just wondering
I also have the Rhino and agree on the awesome front wheel drive setup .....as far as lack of power, mine seems to have plenty for playing cat and mouse in the dunes with the wife's Commander Congrats on your purchase ....give a holler if you come to the Oregon Coast ....see you at Sand Mountain this Halloween? Im starting to get the itch for something sportier too, so I can't blame someone for ditching the Commander.
I too am not real happy with the 4wd. The XP can definitely out climb it, as well as the Wildcat, if not for the better 4wd it's because they don't bounce around on the hill faces. The X's suspension is just "off". Adjust it to be more supple and it sits too low and has hella body roll. Stiffen it up, and it's not very fun either as it beats ya up. I'd rather have the Cat, but I'm disappointed in the power, but the suspension articulates over and climbs anything. I definitely hate the steering on the commander, power steering is a must have, and it would be nice to come with it factory. I sure do hope Can Am, or someone, would make the perfect machine. Take a Wildcat, put in the Commander's Rotax, fit and finish, and cockpit amenities, yamahas reliable clutch system and front locker and you'd just about be there. |

I went an sat in RZR 800s yesterday. Not real impressed,,, but then neither am I with Commander. But Commander is much more comfortable seating setup. In the RZR I feel like I'm in a go kart,, legs straight out hardly any bend in my knees, and the pedals seem far to the right.
Looking underneither at the metal quality of the spindles and axles. I was impressed, much higher quality looking parts. The suspension has no rebound adjuster. That sucks. Just high and low speed comp up top, and spring adjusters. Does anyone know anything about this shock, is the rebound progressive? Meaning it will self adjust,,, cause if you add spring preload you may want to slow rebound down a click. Or if you add comp dampining sometimes you may want to speed up rebound a click. Not sure what I want to do now. Think I'll just go ride my dirtbike, sure is oddly nice out,, worry bout this some othertime. |

I paid more locally for mine 1000x son and i lost fox shock in yellowstone too on finally got it covered looked like my 6 year old took it apart. Scratched fox decal and spring. Took in right before main warranty(ya dont trustmachine) had serviced and asked to check everything out paid my 160bill got home brother in law drove to store came back said he smelled antifreeze i got under sure as hell antifreeze and when changing oil he didnt see it i called they as did it get hot wtf its 35degrees at the time so i check hoses like you all said they were all loose as hell tightened what i could reach checked last week stll dripping out back passanger side pisses me off now i take it in cost is50bucks. My rhino 13000plus miles runs like new no loose hoses or shocks no belt issues ohh im at 947miles dont even want to drive it well over 20000 into it gps stereo limited. I like my rhino. So handy to get to engine and now here air filter lets dirt in im not impressed thinking pos alot. I would take my old rhino on a long mountain trip way before the commander.

I just got back from a week in the desert at KOH...Had a good time and wanted to update u guys on xp...The only problem I had was the throttle stuck on me twice. It was after it sat all night and once I freed it up I had no problems with it after that. Other then that I really enjoyed the xp. It handled the woops with ease and had more power then a guy needs! The tires are bad ass. I have almost 400 miles on it and the rear tires have almost no wear on them at all and believe me im not easy on the go peddle! For now I feel the xp is a better choice for me. Just my experance with the two machines and everyone has there own opinion. Happy trails

I've been eyeing the XP 4 and finally went down and got to drive one over the weekend. It was very nice, great power like the Commander. Cockpit is plain unlike the Commander but it rode great and I know with having a longer wheel base it will but I was overall impressed. We mainly ride in the dunes & think this might soot us a little better, so I might have to do a swap as well in the future.
