This is absolutely embarrassing if the driver of the Commander was giving it all it had.

Here is the break down. This is a qoute from another forum:

During the 250' sand drag races, they brought out the Commander 1000 to drag race a Polaris Ranger (800cc I think). In BOTH RACES, the Ranger pulled ahead right off the line! Then the Commander would catch it and stay side by side for at least 1/2 of the track before slowly pulling away. The Commander 1000 won, but we were all stunned that it was a CLOSE RACE! To be fair, this was a prototype Commander, but the Can-Am staffers told me its capable of running 70 to 75 mph at the top-end. Not sure if the production models will be faster or not???

Here is a link to that forum. http://www.kawieriders.com/forum/kaw...drag-race.html

And here is the video.

Horsepower doesn't mean squat if you can't get it to the ground (not insulting any machine, just stating that a lot of guys spin their way to a loss or a close win to a slower machine).

here is a video of me racing my stock RZR with 55hp against a Weber RZR with 130 hp (mine is the closer one with the doors).

The Weber RZR is a MUCH faster machine, but he was in 2wd and I was in AWD...look at the roost comparison between the two, his is throwing sand everywhere, mine....not so much.

That's what I hope was going on with the Commander/ Ranger race. I mean really, a Ranger. Don't they only put out like 35 or 40 hp, and I think their as heavy as the Commander or pretty close.
