Planning to go Look at the X at Todds Customs Today...

Hey Guys..

I live in Tucson but going to try to get out of here to go do a good once over on the X that's sitting at Todds Custom Billet in Gilbert (Phoenix) this afternoon... I know there's been a host of questions and I'd be glad to photograph...measure...prod and poke as much as they will let me..Jason has said he will make himself available as much as possible but I don't want to bug him too much.

you can send me an email with you like to lansky@dakotacom.net

and I'll see what I can do...

Michael

If it's not to much trouble please get a close look at the air filter/screen intake for the CVT. I'm curious to see how that is. Get a picture or two if you can. Thanks!

Ok...Im back....1.5 hours up....about and 1.5 hours there...and 1.5 hours back...sorry they wouldn't let me take pictures (I think they have been scolded by Can-Am) and they told me they really shouldnt let me poke around...but they did...unlimited access and answered every question I could come up with (unfortunately probably not enough)...what a a great bunch of guys...Jason (head Fabricator) and Todd (the owner) really know their UTV's..and quite the manufacturing facility...the real deal. Their quality is first rate...

First of all, they have built some pretty trick sport and race UTV's of all makes and they were pretty high on the Commander...that's a good start...
They already had the Commander halfway apart and are in the process of building new Sport and competition cages, bolt and weld on doors.. and long travel suspension kits (including new A arms). Upon my suggestion I think a bolt on harness bar will developed shortly as well. They already had a rear cage (to go above the rear bed area) as well as a new front bumper fabricated...

Xelvic, I took a good hard look..and a couple of measurements... I'm pretty sure it'll fit your trailer based on the few details you have mentioned.. (5x8 trailer with 14' tall rails).. the rock sliders to extend past the front tires (widest part of the unit) a tad...but since they are at a positive camber (angle?) the part that extends beyond is higher than the 14" inches. Hope that makes sense.

StevenRH... sorry I didn't know to look at that area in detail... I did pull the cover off the hood area to look at the air filter...pretty slick design..but I think the videos on the board show the detail better than I could describe..

I did sit in the seats...very comfortable, I really don't have a reference to base a comparison to as I have never owned or even driven a side by side..I have been around race cars and dirt bikes for many years...so based on that...this thing was really impressive...fit and finish was impressive compared to the other manufactures I have looked hard at... I too thought the cockpit was roomy enough for me and Im 6'2" and 205...that might change though when you get it bouncing around in the boonies...till then I wont know for sure. The upper bed was much larger than it looks in the pictures....and the under bed was pretty cool...(but I think I will remove it for what I want to do with this rig)

They started it for me...pretty throaty for a stock exhaust...I think an after market exhaust will be home there shortly for me...but it sounded good.

Im sure there's more I have not spoken to yet but wanted to get some sort of response on the board...
