Commander Plow

I purchased my xt with a plow on oct 6th. Well the commander has been a blast but I still don't have my plow. The dealer told me it would be the end of Oct before the plow comes in. Well it never showed and then they told me the middle of Nov. Still no plow. Now they are telling me the end of Nov. Well I am getting tired of the empty promises.

Is there an aftermarket plow out yet? Thinking about getting my $ back from the dealer and buying an after market plow.

My dealer told me today they would find out on nov 24 when the plows would be available. Have not found anyone that makes a plow mount for the commander yet.
He also told me i will get my XT this month.I guess we will see.

cycle country makes a plow mount that you would have to get the front recever it is slick and you use the wince to lift and lower it takes about 30 seconds to take plow on and off i beleave from my dealer the price was around 700 with mount and blade.

I called cycle country and they said that they do not have a plow mount for the commander yet. u might be talking about a gen plow mount. I have been calling every plow mfg that I can and got good results from American Eagle American Manufacturing - Home 1-800-328-4631 Talked to Kurt/owner of American Eagle plows. This guy was awesome. He told me if I was to bring my Commander in he would have a mount made in about 2 hrs. Due to the distance we are apart that wasn't possible. So Kurt said he was going to track down a Commander this weekend and engineer a mount by the end of the weekend. Kurt is suppose to call me Monday. I should have a plow by weeks end. Also it was cheaper than the BRP plow. Should be around $650.

Check out the website and give Kurt a call. I'm sure Kurt would love to sell more than one plow.

My drive way is 700Ft long, i would like to have some confidence it will work OK before i spend the money

well the cycle country plow i got will go into any resever hitch if there is one on the front just use winch to lift and lower its a utv plow kit i got at my honda dealer i had the blade from my atv it is a 60 inch plow it works great just got snow first time last night. its nice no mounts to add to the utv just slid it into resever in front and good to go. Cycle Country - Snow Force 2" Receiver Push tube for UTVs and the dealer i got it from sells 48 60 and 72 inch blade this mount is the best i have ever had no taken off skid plates to mount to the frame and taken them off when not in use when winter is over this is way better and ive had plows for 10 years on atvs and now utvs. just an idea for ya but its a cycle country

I have couple problems with the cycle country plow system that you are talking about. First is you are putting all of the plowing forces thru a 2" reciever in the center of the plow. Second is I owend a cycle country plow for my atv and didn't care for the quality of the plow. It seemed a little light duty for plowing any large amounts of snow. The angleing of the plow seemed to wear prematurly and get slopy. So I would not choose a cycle country plow based on my past experiance.

Now as far as plowing with a atv. I could plow my driveway as fast if not faster with my atv as I could with my truck and an 8ft plow. The atv is so fast when manuvering around objects and changeing direction that it made snowplowing enjoyable. I didn't have to be as carefull around the house and garage. The atv plow was more controllable. Yes it was cold and at times wet.
Because of being cold and wet I bought a plow for my truck and spent the last 2 years plowing that way. Warm and dry in the cab of my truck. Woops watch out for the house and garage. Be careful backing up when you can't see. Ouch that was the mailbox. Wow this plowing is hard on my $40,000 duramax truck. I think I will sell the plow for what I paid for it and buy a Commander with a plow. Now I have a unit that can still move some large quantities of snow and just go out and have some fun on the trails. Did I mention that I have a canvas builder making me an encloser for my Commander. Now I will be warm and dry also. Plowing snow with my commander help me to justify the expense of the utv. My wife runs a daycare out of our house so we will be able to claim the expense of the commander on our taxes. Well this is me story or plan and I hope it works. Let you know in the spring.
