Welcome to the Commander Electric Forum!

We would like to welcome everyone to the latest addition of CommanderForums.org dedicated to the upcoming Can-Am Commander Electric Side By Side.

So anyone considering picking one of these up?

If this electric Commander is somehow able to be registered as street legal I'm definitely going to be picking one up!

Anyone know why else it would come with mirrors, horn and turn signals?

Also, they mention this about it on the Can-Am website:

"It’s 100% gas free with no emission making it the perfect vehicle to tour the neighborhood, do your shopping or explore nature at its best with this ultra quiet and smoke-free vehicle."

You can make any commander street legal. It just depends on your local laws more than it does the actual commander.

2011 Can-Am Commander
29.5" OL2s / 14" MSA Diesels (Mud)
30" Moto MTC / 16" Kores (Trail)
QSC Primary/STM Secondary
(4) 6.5" Bazooka Speakers
Low Range Sport Mode
40" LED Light Bar
Custom Snorkels
2" Catvos Lift
Custom LEDs
HMF Duals
Black Box

This thing is pretty sweet, I wish they could come down on the price though That's a lot of money for an electric UTV.

That's the problem. There is only like three states where you can legally register a UTV or ATV as street legal. The description of this electric Commander makes it sound like it doesn't have the "off-road only" caveat that is stamped on all other UTV's?

Yeah not sure. If they can somehow get around the "off-road use only" stamp then they should be easily registered in just about any state.

Why not just buy a smart car,you have, heat, wipers,AC, tunes, sun roof, instead of the new Electic commander. Proly the same price and you have it all with less limitations. Just my 2 cents

Here's a few quick reasons why:

1. Smart cars aren't cool

2. They're about 3x as expensive

3. You can't go off-road in them or enjoy them to hunt, camp, fish, etc.

"explore nature at its best with this ultra quiet and smoke-free vehicle."

That's a good one cause I'm sure it has the same noisy rear end as the rest of em.
