2012 Commander X Submerged in river...Help..

So i borrow my 2 month old commander to my brother and he ends up crossing a shallow river and on the way back hits rock and its all down hill from there... he and his friend bail and it takes about 16 hours to find it and tow it out of approximately 12-15 feet of water...

Drained Diffs, drained oil and flushed multiple times, replaced air filter drained and replaced fuel. checked battery and is showing 13 volts everything seems good except one problem. When i turn key i can not hear fuel pump kicking in and the dash does not light up, a few seconds later the engine turns over and fires up, once the key is released from the start position the engine stops and everything turns off.

Has anyone experienced this? I really dont want to take to dealer and void my extended warranty yet so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

go through every electrical connection, find every plug and separate them, blow the moisture out with compressed air and apply a liberal amount of dilectric grease and reconnect. if that doesn't work I think your dealer would be your only option. or start swapping parts with another unit

I'd suspect the ignition switch itself or the ignition switch /key DESS system unable to read the key due to moisture

Well it will attempt to start, if the key jacked up it will not turn over. Might be engine or something

I'd do like Teeroy says and also remove your fuse cover and blow it out (dry it all out) and put die-electric grease on each fuse also. unplug the connection on the back of the key switch and blow it out also along with all other connectors like Teeroy says. You better change all fluids a bunch of times after you get it running also. Did you find any fish in the glove box? LOL
Oh don't forget to remove the vent hose from you radiator fan motor and try to blow the water out of the fan motor. Then squirt WD-40 up in there it will also help get the moisture out of it.

Check all your fuses for sure. I think there are two big ones outside the main fuse box.

My key has no start position to release from just the start button? There is some stuff called seafoam you should add as well, did they leave it running when they bailed out? Sounds like an insurrance claim either way.

Insurance? Hopefully you do cause that machine will never be the same. Was the motor running when it went under?
