Commander Wider Stance

I felt the Commander needed better stability on the off camber trails that I ride on. I did not want to go long travel due to some trail restrictions and cost so I opted for wheel spacers. Not my first choice however the best choice for me at this time. I chose the 2" Spacers from Factory UTV because they were made to be the lighest possiable to keep the sprung weight down. Using the spacers posed two problems for me. The first was now the factory tree bars were not going to be as usefull as that should be. The second was the wheels are going to be out past the fenders there will be more Mud thrown. So I opted to extend the tree bars out and add the fender flares. Here are some pics of the results:

Thanks Stan, It really does help to have the right tools. Makes the job so much easyer. The in floor Hydraulic Bike lift came in real handy for the working on the Commander. Well except when I forgot to strap it down and it decided to slide off the front and crash into my Mill!

Can you take a pic from the front with the flare on it like you did with the rear, just so we can see where the front tire is with the flare. Did you have any turning problems or anything with the spacers? Does it fill alot more stable with the spacers?

Here ya go:

I have not taken it out since Install. Its 18 degrees here with a foot of snow! I have Electric Power Steering so I do not antisapate steering Issues othere than the Increased levarage ware. Its a trade off for the added stability.

I have in floor radiant Hydronic heating. I keep the slab at 45 degrees. It keeps the space at 60 degrees. I use a torpedo heater to take the chill off.

I had considered going with a different offset wheel however the cost of spacers versus new wheels was not appealing for me. Also if i go some were that has really tight trails (or with restrictions) its easy to take the spacers off.
