Can-Am Maverick X ds Turbo takes Doug Siddens Back to Pikes Peak
Apr 20, 2015 - 11:33 AM - by NickJ

April 20, 2015 - Austin, TX - Four-time Pikes Peak International Hill Climb racer, Doug Siddens, will make his fifth bid up the hill in 2016. Doug was the first driver to pilot a Side by Side machine in the famed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race. This attempt will find him piloting the all-new Can-Am Maverick X ds Turbo, the first factory turbocharged Side by Side to be offered in the UTV market.

Siddens has a long history with the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Back in 2010 he was the first person to pilot a UTV up the 156 turns that make up the race course. In subsequent years, he went from a moderately modified machine, to a heavily modified race car, picking up records and many accolades along the way. In his 2012 appearance, he managed to pick up the title of Fastest Qualifier in the Exhibition Powersport Class. That year he ended up running 9th overall, which is no small feat considering he was racing against the best drivers, and the best teams with considerable big-name backing from all over the world.

The next year, 2013, he stepped into the Unlimited Class with the likes of the Red Bull team and the team surrounding the record-breaking Peugot 208 T16 car. 2013 saw Siddens sitting in the penultimate iteration of his race car featuring a hand-lain... [Read More]

Mossy Oak and BRP to Collaborate
Jan 08, 2015 - 10:19 AM - by DrumsOfGrohl

WEST POINT, MS, January 8, 2015 – BRP and Mossy Oak, outdoor industry leader in modern camouflage design, have concluded a joint marketing agreement to bring the ultimate powersports experience to hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

“You’d be hard-pressed to find a hunter or land owner that doesn’t own an ATV or side-by-side vehicle. These vehicles have become a necessary tool for outdoors people,” said Chris Paradise, Sr. Vice President and Chief Sales Officer for Mossy Oak. “With the addition of Mossy Oak to the tough and powerful Can-Am off-road line-up, the best of concealment and performance are combined for the must-have, all-terrain vehicle.”

“The timing of our new agreement with BRP could not be more ideal given that 2015 marks the launch year for Mossy Oak’s all new Break-Up® CountryTM pattern, which will be featured on future Can-Am products. We at Mossy Oak consider this revolutionary new pattern to be our best ever and are very excited to work with BRP to bring it to life for our loyal Mossy Oak consumers,” added Ben Maki, Sr. Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Mossy Oak.

''Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts demand the best from their ATV or side-by-side vehicle,” said Louis Lévesque, vice-president, Global Marketing and Consumer Experience. "Our agreement with Mossy Oak will strengthen BRP’s Can-Am off-road line-up offering to give owners the ultimate all-terrain vehicle.”

2015 Can-Am Off-Road Lineup: What’s New At-A-Glance

NEW Models

Outlander L 450 / Outlander L 500

Utilizing a similar G2 SST frame introduced previously on the larger-bore Outlander models, the new Outlander L 450 and L 500 ATVs feature class leading power and design, but are the most affordable and value-packed Can-Am 4x4 ATVs to date. Complete with an unprecedented five-year extended warranty, CVT and steel racks, the Outlander L models come with either an all-new 38-HP liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Rotax four-stroke or
the established 46-HP liquid-cooled, SOHC Rotax V-Twin engine. Both models are also offered with the optional Can-Am DPS package, which includes Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS), Visco-Lok QE, larger magneto and cast-aluminum wheels.

Outlander L MAX 450 / Outlander L MAX 500

The Outlander L MAX 450 / L MAX 500 are available in either a base or DPS package and have longer wheelbase, specialized configuration and components to accommodate a passenger. An optional removable storage box can easily transform either machine back to a one-up ATV in seconds. The Outlander L MAX 450 is powered by new, class-leading 38-hp Rotax fourstroke
engine. The ATVs include the MAX family’s redesigned passenger seat for 2015 and also feature the exclusive Dynamic Passenger Comfort system, complete with handholds, footrests and stadium seating. The steel racks offer improves sight lines and a whopping 360-pound (163 kg) combined rack capacity. These models also include an unmatched five-year extended warranty as well as class-leading power and performance.
